Terms And Conditions

Welcome to our Parfitts Interiors website – Terms and conditions.

1. Orders & Authorisation

• Orders will only be accepted with a valid official Purchase Order (PO) number and an authorised signature from the purchasing company or representative.
• Materials will only be ordered once the official PO has been received and verified.
• Acceptance of an order constitutes agreement to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Payments

• Payment terms are strictly as agreed in writing (e.g., 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise stated).
• Late payments may result in suspension of future deliveries or services.
• Interest may be charged on overdue balances at 2% per month until paid in full.
• All goods remain the property of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until full payment has been received.

3. Postponements & Cancellations

• If fitting is postponed or cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice, a charge will apply as follows:
– £65 per hour appointment, or
– £250 per day per fitting team, whichever applies.
• If an order is cancelled after materials have been ordered, supplier cancellation charges will apply — typically 20–25% of the order value.
• Custom-made, cut-to-size or special-order products cannot be cancelled or refunded once ordered.
• If a product becomes unavailable, an alternative product will be offered. Any additional cost will be chargeable to the client.

4. Site Preparation & Access

• All areas must be clear and ready for fitting on the agreed date.
• Safe and adequate access, lighting, heating, and power must be provided.
• The working area must be free from other trades during installation.
• Pets, staff, and visitors must remain outside the work zone for safety reasons.
• If existing flooring requires uplift, a minimum charge of £85 per area will apply.
• Disposal of old non-contaminated flooring is charged from £100, unless otherwise agreed.
• Floors suspected of containing asbestos will be tested, assessed, and costed separately.
• Contaminated or hazardous materials will not be removed by our team.

5. Fitting & Installation

• All fitting is carried out to a professional standard by Parfitt’s or our approved fitters.
• Door trimming is charged from £35 per door, depending on the type and material. Some door styles cannot be trimmed — the fitter will advise.
• Any damp, uneven subfloors, or structural defects are the client’s responsibility to rectify prior to fitting.
• We follow British Standards for the treatment of damp floors and will advise if an issue is identified.
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors is not liable for problems caused by pre-existing conditions.

6. Pipework, Wiring & Subfloor Conditions

• The client must advise the location of any underfloor pipes or electrical wiring that are not visible.
• We will not accept liability for damage to hidden or undisclosed services.
• Repair costs for any damaged pipework or wiring will not be paid unless proven to be due to our negligence.
• It is recommended that all plumbing and electrical works are completed and tested before fitting.

7. Product Colour, Shade & Batch Variations

• All floor coverings can vary in shade, pile direction, or texture from samples or previous batches.
• These variations are normal within industry tolerances and do not constitute a fault.
• Natural products (e.g., wood, sisal, wool) will have natural variations in colour and texture.

8. Delivery & Storage

• Delivery and fitting dates are given in good faith but may vary due to supplier or transport delays.
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors is not liable for any third-party losses, delays, or missed deadlines arising from such circumstances.
• If goods need to be stored for longer than 30 days due to client delay, storage charges will apply.
• Goods remain the property and responsibility of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until fitted or collected.

9. Guarantees & Aftercare

• All flooring materials are supplied in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty.
• Fitting workmanship is guaranteed for 3 years from the installation date, provided full payment has been received.
• Proper maintenance and care in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations are required to preserve warranty coverage.
• Any issues or defects must be reported within 7 days of completion.

10. Ownership of Goods

• All goods remain the property of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until paid for in full.
• If payment is not made as agreed, Parfitt’s reserves the right to remove supplied goods or materials from the premises.

11. Liability

• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or expense caused by delays, delivery failures, or fitting postponements.
• We do not accept liability for damage caused by other trades working on site before or after our fitting.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Complaints & Disputes

• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors will not be responsible for losses, damages, or costs resulting from delays or postponements beyond our control.
• No liability is accepted for damage caused by other trades working before or after our fitting.
• We are not liable for any consequential or indirect losses.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Client Agreement

By providing an official Purchase Order number and authorised signature, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the above Terms & Conditions.
