Terms And Conditions For domestic customers- showroom
Welcome to our Parfitts Interiors domestic showroom and conditions.
1. Deposits & Payments
• A 50% deposit is required at the time of order.
• Materials will only be ordered once the deposit has been received.
• The remaining balance must be paid no later than one (1) day before the fitting date.
• Failure to make payment on time may result in a delay, rescheduling, or cancellation of the fitting.
• Goods remain the property of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until full payment has been received.
2. Postponements & Cancellations
• If the customer postpones or cancels a fitting appointment with less than 7 days’ notice, We will try to accommodate the move with out any charge but are able to a charge the following if we are unable to fill the vacated diary space
– £65 per hour appointment, or
– £250 per day per fitting team, whichever applies.
• If the customer changes their mind or wishes to cancel an order after it has been placed, a cancellation fee maybe apply.
– This fee varies depending on supplier terms, typically 20–25% of the order value.
– Custom-made, cut-to-size or special-order products cannot be cancelled or refunded once ordered, unless the supplier agrees.
• If a selected product becomes unavailable after deposit payment, an alternative product will be offered.
– If the similar replacement product is of higher value, the customer may be required to pay the price difference.
3. Site Preparation & Customer Responsibilities
• All rooms must be completely cleared of furniture and personal belongings before fitting, Unless agreed or specified on estimate.
• The customer must ensure clear and safe access to all fitting areas.
• Electricity and adequate lighting/heating must be available during fitting.
• Pets and children must be kept away from working areas for health and safety reasons.
• If existing flooring needs to be uplifted, a minimum charge of £85 per area will apply.
• If disposal of old (non-contaminated) flooring is required, a charge from £100 will apply.
• Floors that may contain asbestos will be assessed and costed separately in accordance with safety regulations.
• Contaminated flooring (e.g., mould, damp, pet soiling) will not be removed by our team. unless agreed or specified on the estimate
4. Fitting & Installation
• Fitting will be carried out to a high professional standard by Parfitt’s or our approved fitters.
• Fitting charges are for standard installation unless otherwise stated.
• Unless specifically included, door trimming, joinery work, or subfloor repairs are not part of the standard fitting service.
• Door trimming is charged from £35 per door, depending on door type and material.
• Some door styles cannot be trimmed, and the fitter will advise if this is the case.
• Any existing damp, uneven subfloors, or structural defects are the customer’s responsibility to rectify prior to fitting. unless specified on estimate
• We follow British Standards for identifying and treating damp floors and will offer a suitable solution if notified in advance.
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors accepts no liability for problems arising from pre-existing conditions.
5. Pipework, Wiring & Subfloor Conditions
• The customer must notify us of the exact locations of any underfloor pipes or electrical wiring that are not visible.
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors and its fitters will not accept liability for damage to hidden or unmarked services that have not been disclosed prior to fitting.
• We will not be responsible for the cost of repairing damaged pipes or wiring, unless proven to be due to our negligence.
• We recommend that all plumbing and electrical work is completed and tested before fitting.
6. Product Colour, Shade & Batch Variations
• Carpet and flooring materials can vary in shade, texture, or pile direction from samples or previous batches.
• Such variations are normal within industry tolerances and are not considered faults.
• Natural products (e.g., wood, sisal, wool) may contain colour variations or natural markings.
7. Delivery & Storage
• Delivery and fitting dates are given in good faith but may vary due to supplier delays or unforeseen circumstances.
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors will not be held responsible for third-party losses, missed trades, or consequential costs arising from such delays.
• If goods need to be stored for more than 30 days after delivery due to customer delay, storage charges will apply.
• All stored goods remain the property and responsibility of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until fitted or collected.
8. Aftercare, Guarantees & Maintenance
• All flooring products are supplied in accordance with the manufacturer’s guarantee.
• Our fitting workmanship is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of installation, provided full payment has been received.
• Customers must follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and maintenance instructions to maintain warranty coverage.
• Claims for damage or defects must be reported within 7 days of fitting.
9. Payment Terms & Late Payments
• Final payment is due one day before fitting.
• Late payments may result in delayed fitting or additional charges.
• Interest may be charged on overdue balances at 2% per month until paid in full.
10. Ownership of Goods
• All goods remain the property of Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors until paid for in full.
• If payment is not made as agreed, Parfitt’s reserves the right to remove supplied goods or materials from the premises.
11. Liability
• Parfitt’s Carpets & Interiors will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or expense caused by delays, delivery failures, or fitting postponements.
• We do not accept liability for damage caused by other trades working on site before or after our fitting.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Complaints & Disputes
• Any concerns regarding products or fitting must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of completion.
• We will investigate and resolve all complaints promptly and fairly.
• These Terms & Conditions are governed by UK law, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
